Northeast Minnesota Fishing Report – March 29th, 2013


Crappies are hitting minnows during the day on Island Lake in 18 to 20 feet. The Kamloops bite near the French River on Lake Superior has picked up for shore anglers this week. Crawlers off the bottom or Looper Bugs tipped with a waxie under a float are working best.

Walleyes are hitting in six feet on South Fowl Lake and at Lake Saganaga in 25 to 35 feet. Lake trout are active at Moss Lake in 15 to 25 feet, Loon Lake over 35 to 40 feet, Trout Lake in 40 feet, and Greenwood Lake over 20 to 25 feet. Small jigs or spoons are best.
