DNR has promoted Travis Lloyd, an office director, to the
position of deputy director in he agency. The promotion comes with
a raise, from about $76,000 per year to $96,324.
Republican lawmaker in southern Illinois are questioning a
promotion at a time when the state is billions of dollars in the
hole.
“The salary adjustment he received (from $75,996 to $96,324)
brings him to the lowest salary level of other deputy directors,”
department spokeswoman
Stacey Solano said in an emailed statement to WSIL-TV in
Carterville.
There are a handful of deputy directors under DNR Director Marc
Miller, each with their own responsibilities. Opponents of the
promotion argue that the promotion is political.
Do you think DNR should hold off on promotions until the budget
crisis is solved? Does that sound like a dumb question? Give me
your opinion…ralph@outdoornews.com
