Pierre, S.D. A deer from the Black Hills area of South Dakota has tested positive for chronic wasting disease, the state’s Game, Fish and Parks Department reported Dec. 6.

The deer was a 21/2-year-old whitetail buck that a vehicle struck and killed in Rapid City in September. The deer was collected and immediately submitted for testing.
