Ice is holding up on inland lakes. All kinds of fish roaming the flats.

The 2019 adult walleye population estimate was 551, or approximately 0.6 adult walleyes per acre, which is a significant decline from 2013 when adult walleye estimate was 2.1 per acre.

Those who have been out are struggling to find active pods of bluegills and crappies, especially bigger fish.

Rain, rain, and more rain. Ice is going quick in some spots and persisting in others. And the bite?

Most anglers are starting to chase bluegills, crappies, and perch.

Surveys will help assess natural walleye reproduction and contribution and survival of stocked walleyes.
