The 18-plus-pound walleye, caught in the St. Lawrence River, shattered the old mark by more than 1-1/2 pounds.
It’s a solid walleye fishery, with nearly all of the walleyes netted in the most recent DNR survey there between 12 and 19 inches, and the average just under 16 inches.
