The ice season was a short one on Lake Erie, and anglers are already back to launching boats and trolling for walleyes.

It depends on the lake, but optimism high over a number of fish species.

About the only game going right now is fishing below spillways at a number of Ohio lakes.

With warming temperatures and progressively longer days, it is again time to be extra vigilant about ice safety. The region’s main ice sheets (inland waters), currently around 10 to 14 inches should last a while,

On Lake Erie, walleye fishing was heating up in Brest Bay.

It looks like a short-lived ice fishing season on Lake Erie and on inland waters as temps climbed this week.

The hardwater ice-fishing season on Lake Erie and on inland waters across the state is finally here. At the time of this writing, anglers were struggling to get walleyes to bite on the Western Basin

Today walleye biologists estimate the population of 2-year-olds and older fish at around 116 million. To sweeten the pie the forecast for 2021 is an amazing 151 million.
