The yellow perch bite, in particular, is going strong in a number of locations.

Cold and windy conditions have slowed fishing. April 24 is the walleye and pike opener for the Lower Peninsula inland waters. The statewide trout opener on all Type 1 and Type 2 streams as well

The good news is that anyone who would like to do some kind of fishing will find something to suit their interests throughout the state.

The crappie bite has been good all across the state.

Steelhead fishing on Ohio’s northern tributaries continues to be the best thing going this spring.
