We’re seeing some tricks to catching fish in these conditions.

Tip-downs seem to be an under-utilized ice-fishing tool in Minnesota. But these passive fishing setups are dynamite for light-biting perch and crappies, and they can help you cover more water.

Anglers are now ice fishing on all of western New York’s popular inland ice fishing waters.

Finally ice around a good part of the state. So how’s the hard-water bite?

Let the ice-fishing season commence! Anglers in Central and Northern Ohio are already getting on the ice at various lakes and the hard-water fishing should only get better from here.

“Tackle” Terry Tuma suggests using a sharp hook into the beveled end of the grub, and when utilizing wax worms, try hooking the bait through the tip or the center for better movement.

The ice is in great shape and the bite continues to improve.
