The fall perch bite is ramping up at a number of fisheries across the state.

The muskellunge bite is improving in the north basin of this fishery, primarily around green weed beds and edges.

Hot jig colors this week include orange/chartreuse, gold/orange or solid gold combined with pink, and glow white.

October is winding down and water temps continue to drop. Keep adapting and being versatile and you’ll find success.

Water temps in the low-50s, and shallower lakes have turned over. With the cold weather of late, they could all be turned over shortly in this area. Here’s what it all means for the bite.

Glacial lakes in northeastern part of the state are seeing some good perch action. Try fishing minnows under a bobber along weed edges or flats.

Fishing is still on fire and the rivers remain full of salmon, with colder weather helping. And perch fishing remains solid.

The rain kicked the steelhead bite into high gear here.

The water temperatures have dropped dramatically and that has caused the fish to school up, allowing for more jigging opportunities across the area. Plenty of big walleyes are being caught using big baits, either live
