Julie Smith, of Bloomer, was videotaping a fawn swimming along the shoreline at dawn on Lake Noquebay in Marinette County on June 30 when a bald eagle swooped in, grabbed the fawn in its talons, and killed it in the shallow water. The eagle ate the deer over the next four days. For more, see
