There were 565 registered anglers, including a good number of supervised youth. According to the DNR, five sturgeon harvested were male and one was a female, ranging from 46 to 62 inches long and 23

This year’s allocation of sturgeon for Black Lake anglers was seven fish, although DNR officials set a harvest quota of six fish to reduce the risk of over-fishing.
With more than 400 registered anglers, allocation of seven fish quickly reached; largest sturgeon a 72-inch female that weighed 99 pounds.
The 2018 total allocation to state of Michigan anglers for Black Lake is seven lake sturgeon.
