Lake trout fishing is hot in the Great Lakes, the Finger Lakes and northern lakes like Lake Champlain and Lake George.

Water temperatures continue to drop with the cool overnight lows and that’s meant a little more consistency with the state’s walleye bite.

Water temperatures have dropped to about 60 degrees in fisheries across the state. So what’s that mean for the fishing bite?

Netting results: High catch rates were observed of white crappies, channel catfish, common carp and bluegills, too.

This 927-acre lake near Elysian is rich with submerged and emergent vegetation, which provides valuable fish habitat and plenty of cover to fish through.

Inland lakes are producing a mixed bag of panfish, bass, walleyes, and northern pike. Good action has been reported by anglers on Rush, Van Auken, Orion, Coldwater, Isabella, Six Mile, and most other inland lakes.
