State wildlife biologists say fires already have destroyed more than 500 square miles of crucial winter range in Elko County that will be unable to sustain enough food and habitat for existing herds this winter.
Hunting season set with 410 licenses available; two units that were open last year closing this season.
But statewide, Wyoming plans to offer more licenses for antelope, mule deer, white-tailed deer, elk and bighorn sheep. Fewer moose and bison licenses will be offered.
