Fish are still in summer patterns, and two distinct tactics emerged this week on the bass front. Walleyes are roaming as well.

No secret that jigworms can get it done during the summer months on big bass, but there are ways to be efficient.

The water temperatures dropped dramatically with the help of the strong cold front that moved through the area last week. As a result, the bite, including a decent perch bite, turned on in some areas

This is the time of year when pike often move out of the deep waters and into the flats. Cast single or tandem spinner baits, experimenting with different colors.

Spinners and smile blades are still producing a lot of great walleyes in that 20- to 25-foot range along with some walleyes being caught up shallow as well.

Many fisherman have been using techniques that allow them to cover more water in a shorter time.
