It’s been brutally cold, but the bite has remained good. Downsizing baits has helped put fish on the ice.

Conditions can be challenging, but fishing reports have been good up and down the state. And don’t forget fishing trout through the ice on some lakes, too.

So many anglers think about panfish rod lengths as what you prefer, but in reality, anglers should be thinking about rod length as a function of how they are going to be fishing, as indicated

Ice fishing is going on at inland lakes across the state for crappies and saugeyes and anglers are walking onto Lake Erie from Catawba Island.
