Despite the heat and having to dodge storms, quite a few walleyes have been caught lately. The best presentations have been pulling crankbaits or using crawlers on Slow Death or Search baits.

Plenty of trophy walleyes continue to be caught in the more typical summer ways – snap-jigging and pulling crankbaits.

A lot of walleyes being caught pulling cranks, bottom-bouncing, and snap-jiggin’.

Lakes and the Missouri River continue to produce walleyes. The summertime presentations have taken over – plenty of pulling cranks and using bottom-bouncers.

Water temps warmed dramatically causing many to change up the tactics they were using. Many anglers are now pulling crankbaits or using bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses.

Red has been the color of the week for baits – and in a big way.

The weather continues to cooperate, as do the walleyes. Starting to show signs of switching to more of a “summer-type” of pattern.

The walleye bite is on in many locations across South Dakota and the Tri-State area. The water temps have warmed back up and the fish have responded. Plenty walleye limits have been reported.

Once the nicer weather hit, the bite started turning on.
