The calendar has turned to May and the weather has started to stabilize somewhat. So has this helped angling success?

The inconsistent weather continued to impact the fishing success around the area this past week. Hopefully with better weather ahead, things will start to rebound.

The weather continues to play havoc with the fishing around the area, and despite the cooler temps, the walleye spawn is reaching its peak in many areas.

The weather has definitely felt like summer for a few days and that has helped warm the water a little quicker. The lakes are starting to produce as a result, but the main action remains

Mother Nature is still trying to figure out the season, but the walleyes are biting on the Missouri River. And more on snap-jigging.

The Missouri River continued to produce quite a few walleyes from boat and shore this past week.

It’s been a crazy week of weather as the ice fishing season has come to a close in eastern South Dakota. But there’s an open-water option that might be worth considering.
