The action is picking up for anglers targeting northern pike and walleye with those seasons now open. And bass anglers are at full throttle during what is typically the spawn.
Trout fishing should pick up in early May as waters warm and more stocking takes place. And there is a strong fraternity of pike and walleye anglers anticipating the May 2 reopening of those seasons.
Ice-out in the north and striper fishing proving to be early-April highlights.
