The fall bite has finally started. Yes, the fish are going strong. Here’s where they’re biting – and what to use to get ’em.

Slowly, anglers are starting to see some fall walleye patterns develop even though water temperatures remain warmer than they should be this time of year.

Still some solid open-water fishing opportunities left this season, and patterns are shaping up nicely for the coming weeks.

It’s been slow going, but as soon as water temps dip below 60 degrees, the state’s walleye bite should quickly improve.

Moving baits continue to put fish in the boat.

Muskie activity seems to have improved since last week and there were definitely more reports of shallow fish and bigger fish being caught with large sucker minnows.

Finding fish shallower than last week … Moving baits are dominating.

The fish are starting to get into their fall patterns. Walleye bite is more consistent, although the fish are a bit scattered.
