Windy conditions continue to hamper fishing, especially on the Great Lakes and the bigger inland lakes. River fishing improved after the rain and much cooler temperatures, but will most likely slow again with the warmup.
Fishing pressure has generally been light, except in rivers where salmon are running. Perch fishing has really picked up across the state.
Everything is about ready to bust loose with the arrival of fall. Good bite all around the Great Lakes, and rivers filling up with fish, too.

With the trout season heading down the home stretch, the fishing is still good. But the hot topic among anglers: Salmon fishing is starting to take off. Here’s where they’re catching ’em.
Inland lakes are producing a mixed bag of panfish, bass, walleyes, and northern pike. Good action has been reported by anglers on Rush, Van Auken, Orion, Coldwater, Isabella, Six Mile, and most other inland lakes.
