Not hearing much as anglers await safe ice. Lake George had yet to offer that as of last week, but that’s typical for early January.
Not hearing much as the open-water crowd hasn’t ventured out and the ice fishing fraternity awaits safe ice.
ALBERT LEA AREA Sunfish are hitting waxworms and crappies are hitting minnows in shallow water on Fountain Lake. Minnows are producing walleyes during the evening hours in the channel between Fountain and Albert Lea Lake.
FAIRMONT AREA Anglers are catching walleyes, bluegills, and crappies in 15 to 20 feet at Hall Lake and Lake Sissiton. There’s some evening action for walleyes and crappies at Wilmiert Lake in six feet. Perch
