Muskie season in northern Wisconsin opens Saturday, May 28. With water temps still on the cool side, stick to smaller baits and shallower depths.
It’s been a good trout season across much of New York, with both stream and pond anglers reporting solid catches and out on the deep-water.
Crappie bite has been fair to good at a good many fisheries across the state.
Shore fishing is a good place to start all around the state right now, with the fish in tight these days.
Despite the continued unsettled weather, walleyes are still being caught around the area using various techniques. Minnows are definitely the bait of choice, but some anglers are also finding success with crawlers and leeches.
Rain and snow? No matter, multi-species fishing – particularly for crappies – going strong. And walleye bite has been, well, OK.
The majority of walleyes being caught remain shallow and still being taken with minnows.
Since last week, water temps have dropped here. How is that impacting the bite?
