It was a sweatshirt to tank-top kind of weekend, and the fish are just trying to figure out what month it is.

From south to north, crappie fishing has been strong in shallow water.

Water temperatures rose with the warmer weather and that definitely helped with the bite.

The jig bite is hot and the walleyes are biting.

The official Minnesota bass season opened over the weekend, so we’re absolutely in bass mode now and landed some giant fish – things are right where they should be. We’ve leaned heavily on a few

Walleye fishing on Lake Erie is cranking up for the summer and saugeyes and crappies are setting up in their summer patterns on inland lakes.

Muskie season in northern Wisconsin opens Saturday, May 28. With water temps still on the cool side, stick to smaller baits and shallower depths.

It’s been a good trout season across much of New York, with both stream and pond anglers reporting solid catches and out on the deep-water.
