When George Meyer retired from public service in 2002 after three decades at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, he didn’t step away from conservation work; he stepped closer to the people who live it.
In 2003, Meyer became the first executive director of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation (WWF) and, for nearly two decades, helped shape the organization into a modern, citizen-driven voice for conservation in Wisconsin.
