August was a busy month for South Dakota: One of the state’s U.S. senators introduced a bill aiming to incentivize more grasslands that could be grazed year-round; some residents, as in all states, are reacting to the rollback of federal endangered species protections; and an outbreak of hemorrhagic disease has been reported by state officials.
