After getting situated around 2 p.m. to sit on a bear stand for the rest of the evening on Monday, Sept. 1, Leah Wicklund and Chuck Perkins, of Coon Rapids, Minn., saw a black bear hit their bait. It towered over the bait by about a foot.
“I’m looking at it, I can’t believe my eyes. I’ve been in the woods my whole life, I’m 77. … I’ve never seen anything like this,” Perkins said.
