As summer winds down, hunters are shifting gears in preparation for chasing whitetails this fall. Bows are being dusted off, landowners are being visited, and glassing velvet bucks is in full swing.
However, while these are necessary steps, there are many less glamorous tasks that seem to fall by the wayside. Even after your bow is driving tacks and a target buck is in mind, there are plenty of loose ends yet to be tied up, which will make opening day, and the weeks that follow it, get off smoothly.
