“It was the Ides of March,” recalled Dan Halling. “That’s a pretty good start to the story, right? But it was, it was March 15, and it was a pretty good day for me.”
Halling was roaming the grounds of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant in Sauk County, Wis., when he saw what he initially thought was a set of elk antlers protruding from the underbrush.
“I thought elk, but there aren’t any elk around here,” he said.
