Slayton, Minn. Farm damage caused by beavers appears to be slightly higher than last year, according to Jeremy Holtz, DNR assistant area wildlife manager in Slayton.

Beaver dams can form small wetlands, a good thing for some wildlife, but they also cut down trees for dams, and the restriction of water flow can cause drainage problems for upstream landowners.
