Dan Ladd: There’s a lot to like about New York State outdoor opportunities

I just returned from the New York State Outdoor Writers Association’s annual spring conference, held this year in Lewiston, in Niagara County.
Heading out the first morning of the weekend for some fishing on the Lower Niagara River with 2024 NYON Person of the Year Capt. Ned Librock, I heard him say something that struck a chord, and perhaps made me realize that although there’s quite a bit in this state we in the sporting community are not happy about these days (and rightly so), in many ways, we’re also lucky to have the outdoor resources that we do.
