Huge changes took place in Wisconsin’s deer management strategy in 2010. Those changes continue to degrade deer hunting across Wisconsin, but particularly in northern Wisconsin.
The payment to Dr. James Kroll by the Scott Walker administration will go down as the biggest waste of deer management money the state of Wisconsin has ever made. Kroll was asked to come up with a management plan for white-tailed deer in Wisconsin when most of his experience is with fenced deer in Texas. The number of differences between Wisconsin and Texas would take up a book.
