Duck, goose seasons about to commence in Ohio

Waterfowl hunting seasons are kicking off all over Ohio in October, from Lake Erie on the north shore to the Ohio River in the south. In states where the 2023 season already is underway, hunters have enjoyed good shooting and steady dog work. (Stock photo)

Waterfowlers in the Buckeye State are gearing up for the start of a new 60-day season.
The early waterfowl season has wrapped up for Canada geese and teal as has the youth waterfowl season. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service establishes the framework for the waterfowl season and the ODNR Division of Wildlife sets the season dates.
