Coyotes are becoming a bit too bold around the farm

After once considering coyotes to be wild creatures heard at night or seen on rare occasions, the columnist says they are now viewed as a bit of a threat around his farm in Pennsylvania. (Photo by Bill Weaver)

Of all the canine furbearers, I get why some people mistake a coyote for a domestic dog. 
Depending on the pelt coloration, and even vocalizations, domestic dogs and coyotes have some similarities. Behavior, however, shouldn’t be a common bond. Around our farm, coyotes have been a common sight for years. They howl from the fields at night – something I used to consider a neat serenade but now is more of a raucous annoyance.
