A leg up on gobbler spurs

Turkey hunters are fascinated with gobbler spurs. While mature toms tend to have longer spurs, their length is not necessarily an age indicator. (Photo by Oak Duke)

Gobblers have amazing strength in those legs that power the spur. Years ago, I shot a pterodactyl of a tom while hunting woodcock over a point by my English Setter, Briney.
