Pennsylvania fishing license fees may go higher

Under the proposed fee increase, the cost of Pennsylvania's resident annual fishing license, trout permit, and combination trout/Lake Erie permit, would all increase by $2.50 effective Dec. 1, 2023, which is the start of the 2024 license year. (Stock photo)

For the second consecutive year, the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is planning to raise license fees. 
During a special board meeting March 1, commissioners voted unanimously to grant preliminary approval to a list of fee increases for fishing licenses and permits.
