From deer to pheasant updates, winter listening posts unfold across Iowa

More than 40 hunters and outdoor enthusiasts attended a DNR listening post meeting in DeWitt, Iowa on Feb. 20 where the agency reviewed hunting reports from Iowa’s 2022-23 hunting and trapping seasons. Snow and ice canceled some DNR meetings with the public earlier this week, but in Clinton County’s Dewitt, the community center was packed with nearly 50 hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts. They came to weigh in on just completed seasons and what might lie ahead.
