Illinois deer hunters rank No. 1 nationally in at least one category: percentage who use archery equipment. According to the National Deer Association’s 2023 Deer Report, 74% of deer hunters in our state hunt with bows or crossbows. That is the highest ratio in the country, well ahead of second place Delaware, where 67% of hunters use archery equipment.
