The first month of the 2026 archery deer season has gone well for many Wisconsin hunters despite some relatively balmy temperatures. Thirty-two days into the season, preliminary numbers show the kill so far slightly above the state’s five-year average.
As of Oct. 13, 9,522 deer were registered by bowhunters. That’s up from 8,176 in 2025, slightly down from 9,619 in 2024, and up from 8,669 in 2023. The five-year average at this point is 9,265.
