On Monday, Oct. 5, Travis Meier, 38, of Minneapolis, was fielding calls from Twin Cities media as well as the New York Times. God forbid anyone, including this scribe, give a guy a 24-hour break after hauling a 12-foot canoe 8,390 rods in six hours.
Originally from Winona, Meier completed the entire Twin Cities Marathon last Sunday, Oct. 4, while carrying an 18-pound Northstar carbon-fiber canoe.
