Famous scribe, ‘Nessmuk,’ posthumously inducted into Pennsylvania outdoor writers group
After closing hour at Nessmuk’s Sporting Goods on Saturday, Aug. 22, a campfire in the showroom drew approximately 30 people, and the guest of honor was a man who died in 1890.
“Campfires” is what store owner Zack Buck calls his educational gatherings, and this one was to honor the store’s namesake, outdoor writer and ultralight camping pioneer George Washington Sears, who wrote under the pen name Nessmuk.
