Steve Pollick: Public fracking in Ohio brings up quagmire of issues

The trouble with fracking here in Ohio is that it is as much a political problem as it is an environmental one, and it’s not going away anytime soon.
Witness the recent “fine tuning” in the recently passed Senate Bill 219, signed into law by our “conservation” governor, Mike DeWine. It’s a litany from oil-and-gas of lobbyists’ wish-lists and a thumbing of the nose by our elected officials at a public interested in keeping state parks, wildlife areas, forests, and preserves just that – wild.
