For the purpose of full disclosure, I am a grateful and happily retired former Pennsylvania Game Commission employee who was fortunate to work for the agency for 35 years. In the 14 years since retiring, I try to keep up with current happenings of conservation-related issues involving the Game Commission and other agencies across the commonwealth and the nation.
One observation is that nothing is sacred anymore.
A Republican-led effort to end the Delaware River Basin’s ban on fracking fell short on July 14 after an amendment to the Water Resources Development Act was not brought before a congressional committee, allowing the longstanding restriction to stand for now.
