This summer has been one of the warmer and muggier summers that we have had in the past couple of years in the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa. While we tend not to get the 100-degree days of yesteryear anymore, high humidity and 90s have been rampant this summer.
While I can seek refuge in the air conditioning as I do my summer chores, our wildlife — particularly deer and turkey — are not as fortunate and must use other techniques to deal with the heat.
