The June 5 issue commentary is titled “Don’t Shorten Archery Season,” I’d like to post an opposing viewpoint of “Please Do Shorten Archery Season” in Pennsylvania.
I’ve hunted with just about every type of bow used to launch a shaft for the past 58 years, everything from my own hand-hewn long bows and arrows to today’s crossbows, modern compounds and custom recurves. In those 58 years I’ve killed 52 bucks in a row with archery gear, and I will be the first to suggest shortening the season.
