There’s nothing more exciting to a hunter in the spring than the thunderous gobble of a wild turkey. It’s the reason we drag ourselves out of bed in what is technically the middle of the night to head into the darkness and await the sunrise, listening for that gobble amid the serenade of so many songbirds.
Some birds are more cooperative than others after fly-down, and every once in a while a longbeard fires up beyond your wildest dreams.
