When answering a gobbler’s call, sometimes success in closing the deal requires reverse psychology.
The auditory experience afforded by a lusty gobble is electric, intensely resonant and emotionally charged. A hunter’s call in response should carry a full charge of emotion as well. Well-rehearsed turkey hunters use selected variations of volume, pitch, rhythm, cadence … and, on occasion, even silence to close the deal.
