80,000 rainbow trout to be stocked across Ohio

The Ohio DNR (ODNR) Division of Wildlife will release more than 80,000 rainbow trout at 93 locations beginning in March.
The locations were chosen to give as many anglers as possible a chance to reel in these feisty fish in March, April, and May. Trout releases are designed for high angler success and harvest, according to the Division of Wildlife.

Mallard in Pennsylvania’s Blair County displays both male and female traits

Gliding across the water alongside a flock of mallards and an American black duck, the bird was initially dismissed by some observers as a possible hybrid. Mallard–black duck hybrids are known to occur and often show blended characteristics, including muted coloration and partial green on the head.

Pennsylvania’s Old Crow Wetland being degraded in Huntingdon County

Although there was some activity at the Rutter’s construction site in Smithfield Township near Huntingdon during the winter, all construction work stopped at the end of September. Heavy equipment has been removed from the site by the contractor.
At this point, there has been much earth movement and the construction of a large retaining wall on the downslope sides of the property. Acres of disturbed earth are exposed – some covered with straw.
