I studied a small flock of hen turkeys feeding across an eastern Ohio grassy field.
At any given time, at least one hen had its head up to scan the surrounding landscape. I assumed they were searching for potential predators because turkeys are always watchful. And, many sets of eyes provide more opportunities to survive. What an inspiring sight for any turkey hunter.
