New York DEC encourages beaver trapping on several State Forests, Wildlife Management Areas

The New York DEC is encouraging beaver trappers to visit specific Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) and State Forests where beaver activity is causing damage to roads, trails, and other features. Examples of these areas are listed below. (Stock photo)

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is calling on trappers – primarily beaver trappers – to practice their craft at a number of State Forest Wildlife Management Areas across New York this season.
