Christine Thomas: Fall is a time of ups and downs at the little cabin

This has not been a normal fall at the little cabin. Our Airedale, Major, has had another round of significant health issues.
At 10-1⁄2 years of age, anything can happen, as dog people know. In mid-October, Major suddenly began shrieking, and I do mean shrieking, in pain whenever he tried to lie down. This became constant crying, whining, and panting. He was carrying his left hind leg.
